Sweat and training: the hard truth
Sweat and training are an essential combination, but is it right to think that sweating more during a workout is synonymous with working hard and therefore obtaining better results?
First of all, what is sweat?
Sweat is a hypotonic liquid composed mainly of water and salt and secreted by millions of tiny glands that allows the body to cool down, but that’s not all. Sweat is also a form of non-verbal communication between mammals. For example, in case of stress it has a more unpleasant smell, it plays an important role in expelling toxins and other waste substances and, finally, it can be linked to particular illnesses.
A myth to be debunked…
The amount of sweat that is produced depends on many factors: on genetic and personal characteristics, on the climate and, of course, on the level of physical activity. We can therefore debunk the myth: there will be people who will sweat at the slightest effort and others who will finish their workout session without spilling a drop. Unfortunately, this is the hard truth!
What matters is maintaining a sufficient level of hydration.
Before training, drink the necessary amount to allow your body to regulate its temperature appropriately. If possible, remove make-up and any creams applied during the day, which could stop pores from perspiring. For convenience, you can use a handy box of tissues and, if necessary, micellar water or a cleanser.
Foxy Tornado before a well-earned shower
At the end of the workout, replenish your lost fluids and, before enjoying a well-earned refreshing shower, use a few sheets of paper towel to wipe off excess sweat. For example, Foxy Tornado is gentle on the skin but at the same time robust and resistant thanks to its triple thickness. There is no risk that it will fall apart in contact with liquids. In addition, being disposable, it serves a hygienic towel to be thrown away immediately after use.
